Your First Visit

New Patient

Choosing the right dentist can be tricky and intimidating. If you are visiting our practice for the first time, we want to make sure you have a comfortable, pleasant dental experience. That’s why at Mary Ellen Wynn, DDS our friendly staff is dedicated to making your transition as smooth as possible so you can leave confident in your dental care.

How should I prepare for my visit?

When you first arrive for your appointment please be prepared to complete our patient information and insurance forms. These forms include questions about any medications, allergies, operations, diseases, and your overall physical health.

Your answers will allow Dr. Wynn and her team to look for any illnesses you may be at risk for and develop an individual treatment plan. You can be confident that this information is always kept in strict confidence.

These forms can be filled out in our office or online prior to your visit.

What should I expect during my examination?

Your first visit will include a cleaning and a consultation with Dr. Wynn. Everything will take roughly 90 minutes to complete.

One of our highly-skilled hygienists will begin your appointment with a cleaning. During your cleaning, they will closely examine your teeth and gums to see if there are any signs of problems. A digital X-ray will also be taken to check for any signs of tooth decay.

After your cleaning, Dr. Wynn will perform an oral examination. This will include a visual exam, periodontal evaluation, oral cancer screening, and diagnosis. Dr. Wynn will check your overall oral anatomy including your teeth, gums, supporting structures, and X-ray results. A detailed examination will allow Dr. Wynn and her team to identify any potential problems early before they have time to develop into something more serious.

Once Dr. Wynn completes your examination, she will explain her findings and the next steps. She will be happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about your dental health and treatment options.

What Financing Options Do You Have?

To ensure all of our patients have access to quality dental treatment, we are happy to accept most major insurance companies. We also accept payments by cash, check, and card. For those without dental insurance, our team can help you set up a personalized financing plan through Carecredit.
